Summary:

“The Tank” is a World War 2 era oil reserve tank located in Darwin City that was repurposed as a rock-climbing gym. HK Solutions undertook a detailed condition assessment that included structural inspection of the steel-lined concrete tank and steel roof as well as a geotechnical assessment of surrounding earth slopes and retaining walls.

We accessed records of the site to better understand the historical significance of the Tank and how the building had been managed and modified over the years. This gave us some insight into how modifications may have affected the structural integrity.
