Darwin International Airport repatriation works

Location:

Darwin, NT

Project type:

Electrical and Structural

Summary:

In response to the Covid 19 pandemic, Darwin International Airport identified then need for a direct pathway to quarantine for returning Australian citizens at a time of heavily restricted travel.

It was important that they were conveyed from the plane to the quarantine facility without interaction with the general public.  Darwin International Airport required works to allow for complete separation of incoming passengers bound for quarantine.

HK Solutions was engaged to design upgrades to arrival gates, Customs, and Immigration areas to maintain separation between repatriated passengers and regular airport operations.  This included structural engineering of new walls in various airport zones to isolate the repatriation areas, and electrical engineering works to support the new repatriation pathways.
