Summary:

The aim of the project was to design a new steel roof over the existing stadium plant platform to protect the existing equipment and stop water ingress into the existing indoor stadium building.

HK Solutions was engaged for the detailed site measure and 3D modelling of the existing equipment and building, and then the new structure to confirm suitable clearance and fit were achieved.

The plant deck roof incorporates a unique curve shaped roof to enhance the appearance and blend with the existing log span curved stadium roof. The design includes robust structural portal frame system with louvre walls to withstand cyclonic wind pressures. The individual column design and screw pile footing was proposed to not to overstress the existing structure and to overcome boundary constraints.
